ASA Chicago "Shining Stars" Awards Dinner / Hard Rock ASA 2 Year Concurrent Bronze Winner
Hard Rock was honored to be part of an elite group of 3 finalists for the ASA Chicago top Safety Award. All three companies were recognized at the annual ASA Safety Dinner "Shining Stars" at Indian Lakes Hilton in Bloomingdale, IL. There is a reason why Hard Rock is consistantly recognized around Chicagoland year after year for our commitment to safety: its a part of our company culture, not a sidenote policy. We cherish our people, our customers, and our work - and we have a deep understanding of the risks inherent in the jobs we do. Our thanks to the ASA and Ginny McFarland for their great work in putting on a wonderful evening, and our congratulations to the other two finalists: Door Systems and Thatcher Foundations!
Long story short, Hard Rock completed a massive project at Fermi National Laboratory that involved wire-sawing a 800 ton shielding door just outside Fermi's massive particle accelerator. That project was published as a job story in the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association's 2015 September Issue of Concrete Openings, the official trade magazine of the CSDA.
Our story was then submitted to the CSDA's best job stories of 2015. Hard Rock was announced at the annual World of Concrete in Las Vegas as the winner of the "Industrial Renovation" category.
Following WOC, Hard Rock was told our story had been submitted to the International Association of Concrete Drillers and Sawers (IACDS) for their Diamond Awards in Munich, Germany - a competition that names the best international job of 2015.
Although Hard Rock did not win, we were honored to be part of the list! A job well done to our operators who brought down that door in Batavia, Illinois!
For the second year in a row, Hard Rock has been named a safety award winner by the Association of Subcontractors and Affiliates of Chicago. Since our beginnings, safety has been, and will continue to be, part and parcel of our company culture - not just a set of policies.
Safety creates and fosters an environment of thorough preparation for our operators, and efficient execution for our customers. Hard Rock remains committed to keeping everyone we employ, and work for, safe. Congratulations to our entire team!

Hard Rock Concrete Cutters, Inc. was hired to assist in the repair of a downtown building by drilling multiple 1 inch holes that went 5 feet deep into the granite façade.
Drilling into granite 30’ above an active sidewalk and building entrance provided a few challenges. First, Hard Rock had to engineer and modify the coring rack and column in order to secure it to the scaffolding provided because anchors could not be used to secure the coring machine to the granite façade. Second, Hard Rock had to provide a method for collecting all slurry water to protect the pedestrian traffic which included many Lollapalooza Music Festival Fans. Each challenge was addressed and Hard Rock performed the work in a safe, clean, professional and timely manner.
HARD ROCK CONCRETE CUTTERS IS AWARDED FOR ITS COMMITMENT TO SAFETY
In its ongoing commitment to safety, Hard Rock has been recognized for its efforts by numerous industry organizations. In June, Hard Rock participated in the 2014 National Fall Prevention Stand-Down, a national safety program sponsored by OSHA, educating participants in the prevention of fall hazards in construction. Hard Rock was recently recognized by OSHA for its toolbox talks among staff about fall prevention and participation in the National Stand-Down.
Additionally, in 2012, Hard Rock was awarded a Level Two certification by the Concrete Sawing & Drilling Association (CSDA). The Level Two certification is a rigorous program: to obtain certification, a company must follow generally accepted business practices based upon ISO processes as well as implement effective business systems creating both cost savings and enhanced customer satisfaction. Safety training is a critical component in obtaining CSDA certification.
Industry safety recognition has also been awarded to Hard Rock from Builders AGC Charter Chapter in its 2013 Safety Recognition Award, recognizing Hard Rock, as a member firm, for its continued dedication to keeping its workers safe.

Hard Rock Concrete Cutters was contracted to cut and remove concrete trenches utilizing Electric Sawing and Bobcat Removal in a warehouse located in Wheeling, IL.
The project included 1200 linear feet of electric sawing within the warehouse enabling the plumber to run the necessary piping to accomodate the customer's remodeling vision.
Hard Rock Concrete Cutters had the privilege to perform concrete grinding and polishing in the lobby of a training facility. The floor was industrial concrete that was brought up to a high gloss, 800 grit finish.
The rustic look of the original product was captured and amplified by the concrete polishing, then protected by a clear sealer.
