Long story short, Hard Rock completed a massive project at Fermi National Laboratory that involved wire-sawing a 800 ton shielding door just outside Fermi’s massive particle accelerator. That project was published as a job story in the Concrete Sawing and Drilling Association’s 2015 September Issue of Concrete Openings, the official trade magazine of the CSDA.
Our story was then submitted to the CSDA’s best job stories of 2015. Hard Rock was announced at the annual World of Concrete in Las Vegas as the winner of the “Industrial Renovation” category.
Following WOC, Hard Rock was told our story had been submitted to the International Association of Concrete Drillers and Sawers (IACDS) for their Diamond Awards in Munich, Germany – a competition that names the best international job of 2015.
Although Hard Rock did not win, we were honored to be part of the list! A job well done to our operators who brought down that door in Batavia, Illinois!
