187’ Radius, 18”.

Every contractor knows that regularly, design ideas aren’t as easy as they look on paper.  At a high school in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Hard Rock was called in by a demolition contractor to cut a perfect circle with the radius of 187 feet in a room.  If you can imagine, cutting a perfect circle through concrete, that in some areas was 18 inches thick, was a job that had to be done very carefully.

Not only did the perimeter of the circle had to be cut, but the concrete had to be removed.  Our skilled cutters used an electric saw to cut 3ft by 2ft sections, seen in the picture above, and then were removed by a machine.  Often, cutting is only a portion of the job.  Removal is something that must be thought through and executed as well.

When we hear the question, “Can this even be done?”, our answer is “Yes, we can do that”.  We have so many great employees and leaders at Hard Rock that have been in this industry for decades that have seen every type of job there can be.  With our wealth of knowledge as well as wide variety of tools and equipment, we can get the job done.
